Characterisations of Crossed Products by Partial Actions

Partial actions of discrete groups on C∗-algebras and the associated crossed products have been studied by Exel and McClanahan. We characterise these crossed products in terms of the spectral subspaces of the dual coaction, generalising and simplifying a theorem of Exel for single partial automorphisms. We then use this characterisation to identify the Cuntz algebras and the Toeplitz algebras o...

Crossed Products by C 0 (x)-actions

Suppose that G has a representation group H , that Gab := G/[G,G] is compactly generated, and that A is a C∗-algebra for which the complete regularization of Prim(A) is a locally compact Hausdorff space X . In a previous article, we showed that there is a bijection α 7→ (Zα, fα) between the collection of exterior equivalence classes of locally inner actions α : G → Aut(A), and the collection of...

Crossed Products of the Cantor Set by Free Minimal Actions of Z

Let d be a positive integer, let X be the Cantor set, and let Z act freely and minimally on X. We prove that the crossed product C(Z, X) has stable rank one, real rank zero, and cancellation of projections, and that the order on K0(C(Z, X)) is determined by traces. We obtain the same conclusion for the C*-algebras of various kinds of aperiodic tilings. In [35], Putnam considered the C*-algebraA...

CROSSED PRODUCTS OF k-GRAPH C∗-ALGEBRAS BY Z

An action of Z by automorphisms of a k-graph induces an action of Z by automorphisms of the corresponding k-graph C∗-algebra. We show how to construct a (k + l)-graph whose C∗-algebra coincides with the crossed product of the original k-graph C∗-algebra by Z. We then investigate the structure of the crossed-product C∗-algebra.

Sums of Strongly z-Ideals and Prime Ideals in ${mathcal{R}} L$

It is well-known that the sum of two $z$-ideals in $C(X)$ is either $C(X)$ or a $z$-ideal. The main aim of this paper is to study the sum of strongly $z$-ideals in ${mathcal{R}} L$, the ring of real-valued continuous functions on a frame $L$. For every ideal $I$ in ${mathcal{R}} L$, we introduce the biggest strongly $z$-ideal included in $I$ and the smallest strongly $z$-ideal containing ...
